Representatives of the Judiciary Committee’s oversight panel are scheduled to release their report next week. The panel, in a bipartisan vote, is expected to conclude that then-Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department approved the gunwalking strategy.
The investigation has already led to four convictions, including for an alleged straw buyer who obtained firearms for Mexican drug cartels.

Why it’s not clear what’s in the Fast and Furious report
The report by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has been under review by the Justice Department for weeks and is largely expected to conclude that Fast and Furious was born as a result of flawed intelligence that led a U.S. gun-tracking operation to go awry.
A Justice Department spokeswoman declined comment on the committee’s report, as did the committee chairman, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah.

“I would say it’s about as detailed as you can expect to get,” Chaffetz said of the report. “We’ll see it when it’s released.”
He declined to provide further details.
In a letter sent Wednesday to Attorney General Eric Holder, Chaffetz said the committee is “considering the appropriate next steps” for the House probe, which will last for several months.
In addition to the ongoing trial, the Justice Department has said it will close the operation and change the way it tracks guns. It said it would stop “gun walking” and review its methods for identifying firearms trafficking to Mexican drug cartels.
Some Democrats on the committee have said it’s time to move on from the three-year investigation into Operation Fast and Furious, which the U.S. government allowed guns to be sold illegally and tracked as they were smuggled across the U.S.-Mexican border in hopes of tracking them to drug traffickers.
Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., ranking Democrat on the panel, said in an interview that the report would likely be released by the end of the month. 01e38acffe

If you liked the original Mach3, it's certainly not a bad idea to have a look. Some of the more useful features, especially vector graphics, might still be a good fit for your needs.
